More than a decade ago, husband and wife chefs Anupama and Sunil Srivastava came to Texas loaded with centuries-old family recipes and a dream to introduce new generations to the forgotten cuisines of India. They opened a quaint restaurant called W'kana, which very quickly became known for its gourmet-quality food, flair and flavorful dishes. After several years, they closed Wβkana to open the acclaimed Verandah Progressive Indian Restaurant near River Oaks and began a new era, this one bringing the many cuisines of India to a new audience just discovering the traditional style and flavors.
